Launch of the Sangh’s Handbook for Hindi Teachers in South Africa – Mar 2019

The Hindi Shiksha Sangh looks forward to a busy 2nd half of 2019. The forthcoming events include: the Annual General Meeting on the 23 June 2019, Nritya Utsav on the 20 July and finally hosting Pt Malik from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Gauteng for a series of concerts that celebrate folk and classical music. This is scheduled for either the end of July or early August. On the 28th July we are also hosting the second Academic Workshop for the year

The first workshop in February was a resounding success and we hope to use these sessions to add value to our teachers who contnue to teach Hindi with dedication and diligence. In August our Pietermaritzbug team will host the ever popular “Kal ki Sitaare” where new and upcoming South African artistes will be given a platform to display their respective talents.

In September 2019 the Sangh shall host Dr Vinnaye Goodary, Head of the Hindi Department, from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius. Apart from introducing us to global developments in the teaching and learning of Hindi, he will also be conducting workshops on how technology can enhance the teaching of Hindi. Dr Goodary is an international thought leader in the field of Hindi and a highly celebrated academic.

October and November ushers in the exaination season. In the meantime our popular bhajan programme, Bhajan Sandhya will be held on the 12 October.
